Any idea when first results are expected? Will they wait to post ANY results until the two Fulton Co. precincts being kept open are done voting?

I seriously think people underplay how close a Ossoff vs Handel race could be

I'm hoping Ossoff gets over 50% for many reasons, but also because having to wait another two months for election day is agonizing.

American elections are too long, dammit.

two months is a bizarre time period, imo.

Why can't a runoff only be mere days/week after the jungle?

Georgia (I don't know about other states) is required to allow plenty of time for overseas military ballots to be received.

The 2008 Senate runoff was only a month later though. Was it because it was Christmas soon, then swearing in soon after?

Either Enten or Cohn tweeted (I can't remember) something to the effect of "people are overestimating Ossoff's chances of winning the jungle election and underestimating his chances of winning the runoff.

Good thing for Ossoff is that most of the GOP strongholds are still bottleneck. 400 is a nightmare between 4 to 7.

At this point, doesn't even matter considering polls close at 7.

Nate Cohn estimates that early voters for this race went 57-43 for Clinton.

Old joke: the evening rush hour in ATL starts at 3:30.  Except on Friday, when it starts on Thursday.

Georgia Highway 400, the expressway that runs through the north Fulton suburbs -- and the further north you go, the more Republican they are.  Presumably he's thinking that this will delay some of the GOP voters from getting home to vote.

Maybe not, but it's probably in the top 5.

I'd say Los Angeles is worse.

You'd think these folks would have thought of that when leaving to vote.

Most of white flight is concentrated on its Northside thats why one side looks so red and one side looks fine. Downtown Atlanta is almost 1 hr away from Alpharetta with normal traffic.

Texas A&M did a study and DC was #1, recently passing LA.

How much of a difference would it make for Ossoff if polls closed at say 9 pm.. would that be just enough to put him over 50?

D.C. absolutely has the worst traffic, although Atlanta's infrastructure seems to be piss poor.

Polls will remain open at 2 precincts in Fulton County for a while longer, all results delayed 1 hour from that authority.

Not to mention the disaster on I-85 after the bridge collapse.

We also had part of I-20 buckle yesterday during the evening rush hour and shut down all lanes for several hours.  Fortunately it wasn't that serious and was open today.
