I wonder if Democrats could get Obama to do a few rallies for Ossoff close to election time. Maybe he could help give a boost to African American turnout.

Updating my prediction to 54-46 for Handel.
Why may I ask?

I've seen Republicans have 9 lives too many times to for me to say Ossoff is favored. Still Tilt R unless Handel is completely collapsing.

I think that Ossoff is being overvalued, and is not a great fit for the district. There are a noteworthy amount of undecided voters now because they think that Karen Handel is an idiot, but on election day, I think these moderate and tilt and lean R "educated" suburban voters will come home to the GOP. Karen Handel is the better fit for the district, and I got a feeling that voters will see and go through with it. Personally, I like Ossoff and dislike Handel, but I am just giving my thought on who fits the culture of the district better, which is Handel, and I think people will come home to the GOP at the end of the day. It's a completely baseless idea, but it's just my gut feeling. I will probably be wrong.

House Majority PAC (D) announced $500K TV ad buy and $200K for GOTV.

Edit: This is a Democratic group, not Republican.

Everyone on the ground from both sides says that all the energy and momentum is with Ossoff, so yeah.

FWIW, since this might shed some (faint) light on interest/enthusiasm in the region: this week's runoff in SD-32 broke the record for votes in a Georgia special legislative runoff with 32,673 votes.  The old record was 23,214 in 2011.

I'd say part enthusiasm, part rapidly-growing area that's way above its 2010 population estimate.

and people still think 2018 will be this huge gop year due to it being a midterm lmao.

But I must say that if Karen Handel wins it would be a huge blow to the Democratic Party with the amount of money being spent there.

I don't understand why people think it's going to be really close (<0.5). I mean, based on the results of the first round, Ossoff was the favorite and Trump has become even more unpopular now.

I'd say 53-47% Ossoff, 5 point win. I'd have said 51-49% but the last ten days have been really rough on GOP morale and I'd add 2% to the Ossoff win. I'd rate this race as Lean D.

The GOP just has a way of always doing better than expected, and they have a tight leash on the one demographic that will cut off their arms to vote.

Ossoff not ready to call for impeachment, although it should be noted that this interview took place before the Comey memo came out.

I have no idea about the cost previous congressional races, but we may end up with the most expensive congressional race in US history?

It's going to be a shame all this money was spent when Ossoff loses.

I don't think Trump, Thom Tillis, Roy Blunt, Richard Burr, Matt Bevin or Pat Toomey really ran better campaigns than their counterparts...didn't stop 'em from winning. I don't think Handel's running better than Ossoff now.

That seems to be an argument for the overall political environment... and that wouldn't favor Handel in 2017.
