Elizabeth Warren‏ @SenWarren
Tonight @SenateMajLdr silenced Mrs King's voice on the Sen floor - & millions who are afraid & appalled by what's happening in our country.

Elizabeth Warren‏ @SenWarren
I will not be silent while the Republicans rubber stamp an AG who will never stand up to the @POTUS when he breaks the law.

Elizabeth Warren‏ @SenWarren
I will not be silent about a nominee for AG who has made derogatory & racist comments that have no place in our justice system.

"The Senator will take her seat."

That's not going to play well.

I agree with him, but this will basically have no impact anyway.

“She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted."

Sounds like Elizabeth Warren has her 2020 campaign slogan.

*Puts on 5-dimensional chess thinking cap*

What if Senate Republicans are trying to help Warren win the nomination because they think she'd be easier to beat in a general election?

Both sides do it. Look at the colleges and universities. You get shut down for saying things that hurt BLM. I'm so proud of being a centrist.

I really hope you are indeed a troll. It hurts to think about someone actually making a post like this and mean it.

This is not about Black Lives Matter or the whole idiotic "both sides" argument, it's about the US Senate voting to silence an elected Senator for reading a letter. Democrats never voted to silence a Republican Senator from speaking on the floor, so there is no "both sides" angle.

Congratulations, Republicans.  You managed to tell a woman to shut up and a black person to sit in the back of the bus at the same time!  A new achievement.

That "non-voting" group is such an odd assortment of Senators.

Sanders and Cruz were busy debating at GW, and some other may have been busy at the time as well.

Any notion of a decrease in transparency is completely objectionable and would serve only to benefit shady interests and politicians who'd prefer their work hidden from public view. Thus, I imagine it'd be an enormous boon for Republicans.

The Senate just banned the words of Coretta Scott King to protect the feelings of a man it once deemed too racist to be a federal judge.
