To make peace in a debate that has been flawed since it began:

Amendment to the Fair and Healthy Food Act of 2017
1. Section 3, 2 shall hereby be removed.

I hope that this will calm down our political dispute and that this will be a sign of goodwill and of willingess to work together.

Thank you very much for this Mr. Simmosad, it is not that I am opposed to the breaking down of monopolies, just the broad definition of it all.

As I said earlier, this debate has been flawed, I felt like no one was really listening to each other, and thus, this part of the bill has been raising eyebrows. As I also said earlier, we are here to have fun. No one likes mudslinging. Let's get this amendment passed, and afterwards we will finally stop debating about this piece of legislation.

I thank the legislator for having the humility to introduce this measure, and will join the speaker in supporting the amendment. I likewise echo the comments of the Southern governor in saying that, while this particular measure may have been misplaced, the instinct the guard against competition-stifling monopolies is a noble one, and I would be happy to consider legislation that more directly addresses such a goal.

With no debate and unanimous consent to the motion. I bring this piece of legislation to a final vote. Please vote Aye, Nay or Abstain on the bill.

This bill passes with 2 Ayes, and 1 Nay and goes to the Governors desk for his signature or veto.

Er, I know it's probably not my place to comment, but this vote confuses me. Weren't you opposed to the GMO ban in schools in the first place? Why vote against striking it out?

I was against any requirement for GMO labeling on principle.

Right, but that part was already made law. Hence my confusion...

Well, that was embarrassing. Tongue  I thought that would involve the imposition of another mandate.  My bad.
