I think Democrats just found their strategy on how they're going to go about the Gorsuch nomination. Driving a wedge between Trump and the conservative base will be more important than whether Gorsuch gets confirmed or denied. Hence he'll be confirmed, but Democrats will draw out the process and make scrutinizing Gorsuch's ability to act as an independent check on the Trump administration's impulses be the main theme of review process. Pacify the Democratic base, play off Donald Trump's volatility.
Or maybe I'm giving them too much credit.
