I don't understand why everyone cares so much about a guy who rides a bike for a living.

I don't think it's so much the fact he rides a bike for a living that's the point. The point is the fact that he overcame life-threatening cancer to become one of the greatest sporting icons of our time

Dave

Greatest sporting icons?  Hardly.

Yes, that's what I said. Seven consecutive wins in the Tour de France is one hell of a feat, I'd say

Dave
IT is a pity he is such a lousy person.  From what I hear anyways.

Armstrong is pro-choice, pro-gun control, anti-Iraq War

Yeah, he's a perfect fit for Texas...NOT!

I'm sure Lance is a very nice man, and he's a magnificent athlete, perhaps the best athlete of his generation, and perhaps the greatest cyclist ever.  he has an amazing personal story with overcoming cancer that seemed like a death sentence at the time, but let's face facts.

Lance Armstrong left the wife who nursed him through his cancer for Sheryl Crow, the very liberal rock star who has publicly bashed George W. Bush.

If he wants to run, he better not run in Texas, because no matter what party he runs for he would be putting his family through a direct and violent frontal assault on some very personal things.  The glowing media coverage he's used to would dissipate instantaneously.

Campaigns today are ugly.  Just a warning Lance, but make sure you're willing to be on the losing end of a brutal campaign that gets very personal.
