I think the whole situation is a set up so Bently doesn't get indicted.

He has a strange name too.

He's like 6'9, so I'm pretty sure he's going to grind the other Senator's bones to make his bread.

The questionable circumstances of his appointment push me towards HP, but ideologically he seems like a standard Southern Republican, who are typically at least OK. So, HP, but only very mildly so.

Is that why Bill Haslam, Shelley Moore Capito, Jay Dardenne, Joseph Cao, and Asa Hutchinson are all HP?

Would have preferred Byrne, but he seems pretty standard (aside from his height). Lean FF for now.

He's been a Senator for four days and I had no idea.

Edit: Interesting guy. At 6'9 he's the tallest member of Congress in American history.

lol@the stupid idea that "Northern" Republicans like Toomey, Ernst, Walker, Johnson, etc. are so much  less conservative/Republican/awful than people like Isakson, Haslam, Corker, Shelby, etc. That simply isn't true.

A very stupid idea, as people like Paul Ryan and Ron Johnson are much, much more conservative on the issues that divide Congress than people like Jeff Sessions or Mike Huckabee.

I don't think Northern Republicans are more conservative or much different than Southern Republicans. Someone like Corker or Isakson could very well represent Iowa in the Senate, while Ron Johnson could easily represent Mississippi or South Carolina as well. There is no "North" vs. "South" divide in the Republican Party.

I know, I was more giving examples of two Republicans who might be stereotyped as "more conservative" because they are from the South but are actually to the left of many Northern Republicans.  Cultural conservatism aside, the Midwest has historically been more conservative than the South, really.

But agreed, the main divide in the GOP seems to not have that much to do with location, honestly.
