This is actually a really good idea- and works a lot better than the usual debates (mine and Yankee's was probably infamous in it's length, and rather dull tone)

It works a lot better because people are required to think on their feet, and you get some genuine spark. Ted did a brilliant job with this

Yes. One of the questions (I think everyone knows which one Tongue) was a reach, but it's a revolutionary idea. Great to see it implemented.

FYI I have discussed the question at hand with Leinad, and while I disagree with his conclusion (on the merits of the question - I think Dfw has superb temperament) I'll make sure to consider what he and others have said on the subject when I write up questions for the debate in June. Smiley
