in an election? It could be any election. Basically, which poster would you still support despite a huge ideological difference?

I could see myself voting for Goldwater, PiT, or Cathcon. Heck, I might even vote for someone like Reaganfan in a local election.

RINO Tom, Cathcon, Santander, RFayette. Mind you, a few of those aren't really that different from me.

I think Virginia would govern very well.

-I don't, but I'd vote for her over someone like Lindsey Graham.

In a Presidential election, RINO Tom, Goldwater and Sunrise are  about as far right as I'd probably go. I'm not yet sure who would be the farthest left for me, but probably wouldn't stray into some of the Socialist avatars.
In a local election? Anyone other than someone wildly different like Eahrding and Santandar, to be honest. Depends on the opponent.

Southern Gothic, but he's not THAT different from me. Probably a few others as well.
I'd say that we are relatively close. I'm significantly more left-wing economically though IIRC.

I mean, it totally depends on the match up, of course!!!  Theoretically, I'd support eharding, Extreme Republican, Ljube, Satander, etc etc against certain individuals

I'd vote for DC, TJ or RFayette over certain brands of "leftists".

TJ and DC al Fine. I might go for one of the libertarians if it's real small potatoes.

I'd probably never vote for ExtremeRepublican.

I could see myself voting for someone like averroes over a Todd Akin-style nutcase, largely because he is someone who has principles (ones that intersect with mine in surprising ways) and who thinks a lot about the issues and would approach policy in a far more rational fashion than an Akin who just sticks his foot in his mouth would. I still don't agree with giving kids the right to vote though. Tongue

Presidential Level: DC, tmthforu or TJ if the other guy's a crook

Statewide: RFayette, Santander, Sanchez, those on the presidential tier

Local: Leinad, NC Yankee seem to be decent enough.

If it were a typical R vs. D election, I could see myself voting for Goldwater as a Republican against a damaged Democrat. If it were an R vs. R election in a place like Washington or California, there are many whom I would vote for against a Trumpist/Tea Party candidate. I can also imagine voting to confirm someone like Sunrise for a position in government if he were appointed by a Republican president.

Leinad. I'd also like to say TD and muon2, but I'd need to know a little bit more about their specific policy preferences.

I guess it depends on the situation, but I'd definitely vote for Simfan to be governor of New York.
