Freedom with Franklin: Let's rename the North Franklin!

Northern Voters and Citizens. This Weekend we will vote on an amendment to rename the North.

There is only one name that can give the North Freedom: That name is Franklin!

Just look at the Proud Patriots who endorse our cause

Anyway, I think this is a good idea--very few places in real life are named after compass directions. Endorsed for second preference behind Adams, with Erie as my third choice (not that I get a say, but as Uncle Of The Constitution and first post-reset President I feel it gives me some sort of a platform to make my voice heard ).

Of those three I'd say Franklin > Lincoln >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Atlantic Union. If they go with the latter I support the South taking in refugees from midwestern states as they would apparently not be welcome

Frankline is not the choice. There are two other names on the ballot. The referendum does not include language to give citizens the ability to vote on if the name should be changed. Again, there was an entire legislative debate and name change thread. There was plenty of time to voice dissent in the process.

It seemed the choice was made to change the name from the start because some prefer another name that was not chosen when the constitution was debated and written by delegates.

People are going to be happy no matter what. There is no pleasing everyone. After that, one's philosophy on keeping things status quo comes into play. My philosophy (along with our Governor, our Senator, a Former President, and many other citizens of the North) is that keeping things status quo isn't always the best idea. So we decided to shake things up and change the name of the region.

I'm not really sure why this is such a big deal either, outside of being a relatively minor inconvenience for a few weeks after the name change.
