At least Lindsay Graham isn't as insane as some of these congressional Republicans. Insane how some Republicans are in their hypocrisy.

Is Trey Gowdy going to hold hundreds of hearings to investigate this scandal like he did with Benghazi?

Do Trump or Flynn have a (D) after their names?

They will on Fox News some day.

Republicans only care about self-preservation.  Concepts like democracy and accountability mean nothing to them.

Not sure if this has been posted here or in one of the other threads, but the White House now says that Trump "was informed weeks ago" that Flynn lied about his conversation with the Russian ambassador, and that he asked for Flynn's resignation yesterday "after concluding he could not be trusted":

But Spicey told me that Trump took unbelievably decisive action!

I'm not sure which is worse: that they're pulling the school-kid "I knew the answer the whole time, but now that you've said the answer out loud I might as well tell you", or that it took weeks for "lying about shady backdoor contacts with the Russian government" to be be considered a firing offense.

At this point it's pretty obvious that everyone here is a liar. Flynn, Spicer, Conway, Trump, the whole lot of em.

Nah, they were just being sarcastic this whole time. Tone just doesn't translate well when written in the form of an executive order or in the voice of Conway and Spicer.

lol RT

RT America ‏@RT_America
BREAKING: Gen. Michael Flynn retires as National Security Advisor

RETIRES!!! Lol

The Russian government feels the need to lie about this. There's something shady going on here...

Disgusting what Moscow is doing.

Also: While the Kremlin itself is not commenting on Flynn’s departure, Russian legislators of the ruling party spoke of a negative sign and criticized the US government (probably an indirect action by Putin). So much for improved relations with Moscow. I doubt that will ever seriously happen since strategic interests are too much of the opposite. And despite the Trumpster’s inexperience and incompetence, I think that the Russian leaders will be responsible for this and not Trump. I just hope he and his administration won’t sell America completely out in any deals. Obama also tried to improve relations, but it did mainly not happen due to Russia’s aggressive foreign policy. It is inappropriate for a politician to comment resignations of another country in that manner. Even if the resignation was actually unjustified. But somebody who bluntly lies to the vice president about potential sanction relieves must take his hat. It’s that simple.

Agreed. But it is nothing new that the Russians interfere in other countries. I also believe that two alpha males like The Donald and Uncle Vlad may not get along for a longer time.

We have a national security adviser who lied to the Vice President, the president's chief of staff, the assistant to the president and the press secretary, who then repeated those lies to the public, on a matter of national security. We have a president who knew about it for weeks and did nothing. If Hillary Clinton was that president, would Trump supporters have continued to insist it didn't reflect on her character? The only reason we even know about this now is that Jeff Sessions was not yet AG and the Justice Department didn't try to hide the fact that it had proof contradicting the administration's public statements.

20h
Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
Information is being illegally given to the failing @nytimes & @washingtonpost by the intelligence community (NSA and FBI?).Just like Russia.
Thank you to Eli Lake of The Bloomberg View - "The NSA & FBI...should not interfere in our politics...and is" Very serious situation for USA.
The real scandal here is that classified information is illegally given out by "intelligence" like candy. Very un-American!

Trump now says Flynn was "just doing his job". So I guess he just admitted to violating the Logan Act?

I can see Sessions judging on whether to prosecute based on the public uproar.  Given the Administration's behavior, I question whether there will be a Republican Party in 2024 worth commenting on.

JFC Flynn is stupid. Corroborates with what John Schindler has been saying for a long time: that it takes a special kind of moron to get fired for incompetence from the DIA (aka Do it Again)
