Sorry if this is the wrong board, wasn't sure where to ask this.

Would it be a washed up 2016 candidate like Rubio, Kasich, or Cruz? Would he bring Romney back from the dead? Would he try and find some more Trump-lite character in hopes of appeasing the base?

If Ford is any indication, somebody who is popular within Congress and a non-controversial choice.

Like Ford: Someone likable and not connected to Trump in any way.

A dumb stooge that out-of-touch Beltway pundits think is likeable. Scott Walker or Rick Perry would be perfect.

Someone paltable like Haley. If the impeachment causes turmoil, maybe Mattis could be a wildcard.

Rubio, Haley, Scott if he was married. The Republican Party needs to expand its minority vote share.

This makes sense. Though I can't see Ryan wanting to leave the house. Is there another choice in congress? Cotton maybe?
