That's what we all said after the Khizr Khan dispute... and Access Hollywood... and pretty much everything in the primaries.

As long as the Republicans in congress think party is more important than country, He will have no problem sticking around.

You people cheering for impeachment make me sick. President Pence will gut the safety net for the poor, will support disastrous neocon foreign policy and will no doubt sign a free trade agreement and target gays. Trump is awful as an individual but as far as policies go he is by far the least bad among his party.

I think these posters are more mortally in fear of Trump launching a nuclear warhead because of a bad tweet. In comparison, Pence looks like the second coming of F. Roosevelt to these people, I imagine.

We recently had the first poll since 2009 saying that the country is moving in the right direction, so I think Atlas is all just wishful thinking from Democrats right now.

Really. Well, given Trump's personal unpopularity, it's probably not because of anything he's doing. (and it doesn't count if it's Rasmussen)

That's a little exaggerated, but pretty much it, yes.

We're in an era of unprecedented division. Obama's numbers flagged through most of his Presidency, but as long as you have your party behind you you can endure this stuff. The mistake a lot of Dems make is wishing that the GOP will just throw President Trump under the bus. Things would have to change substantially for that to happen.

That poll also had Trump winning the popular vote through most of the campaign, unlike other polls. It's fair to say it has a partisan lean.

Every poll has a partisan lean. Predicting the electorate is the hardest part of polling

They've already thrown him under the bus many times during the campaign. They fully expected, and secretly probably wanted, him to lose. Now they just dont know what to do with him

They distanced themselves from him as much as was feasible. Key phrase is "as much as was feasible". The party formally dumping him was not a serious option after he got the necessary delegates.

Trumpy is safe as houses at the moment.

If he did not implement any of his policies, then he would struggle to gain the votes from those who elected him when we return for round 2 in 2020.

Donald has an easy argument here.

He can simply say after the next terrorist attack that he is doing everything in his power to rid the country of terrorism by extreme vetting of people from countries where ISIS have a strong presence.

blood is always in the water in this administration because Trump hired a bunch of bad eggs and those bad eggs are now in the process of doing what they do best - doing a bad job, and blaming each other for it.

I am pretty sure it could get so bad that Trump & Pence will have to re-sign and after that Paul Ryan would be President which isn't good either. Which is why when 2018 comes around, people need to go out, vote and make sure the Democrats can take back the House & Senate.
