The Russian Embassy recently tweeted a picture of hamburgers along with some words backing up Flynn, that they didn't talk about the sanctions

This befuddles me. What does Russia have to lose by admitting they talked to him? Shouldn't they be loudly decrying that someone seeking to ease tensions between the US and Russia got forcefully removed by evil anti-Trump forces in the government?
