I got pretty much the exact opposite of you (heavy on New York/New Jersey and Louisiana, but light on the Pacific Northwest):

I think maybe we got different questions, though.  I didn't see anything about a dance or about potatoes, or about spendy or coffee slang.  Mine asked me about things like the night before Halloween (I have no special name for this); the grassy area just outside the sidewalk, which I just call the grassy area outside the sidewalk; and a drive-through liquor store, which I just call a drive-through liquor store.

My cities were New York, New Orleans, and Yonkers.

This what I got y'all! Grin :

They were pretty accurate considering that I actually do live in Jackson.

Baton Rouge and Richmond were 2 & 3 respectively.

-Looks a lot like the Hughes-Wilson map (or the Bush-Gore map):

Interesting indeed.

Interestingly enough, this actually places my accent close to Bay Area Northern California, although I have spent a good chunk of my life in Oregon, with a parent from the NYC area and the other from SW PA, have lived in Ohio for four years, and Texas for three....

Several of the questions I could have gone several ways, but there wasn't a choice (Cougar/Mountain Lion) and a few others.... that being said, when I lived in Ohio my accent shifted a bit, when I lived in Texas it shifted a bit, and sometimes I still use y'all even back out in Oregon.

Fun survey--- tks for posting and will need to post on Facebook for all my friends enjoyment....

Opinions differ. Some have told me I have no accent at all, others say I have a "very thick accent" to the point of being unintelligible.

Springfield, Boston, and Worcester were my top three. Only the Connecticut River valley says "tag sale", and "rotary" firmly situated me in Massachusetts.

I talk like a liberal:

This is what happens when you take the Midwest, Canada, and New York City and throw it in a blender with a little bit of "y'all"

As a non-native speaker I'm obviously used to the New York accent, so this seems pretty normal:

Crazy how this test seems to be so accurate for so many of you guys.

Considering I'm a Florida native, this is pretty much accurate.

Top cities: Wichita, Overland Park, KS, and Indianapolis.

I'm clearly a lifelong Midwesterner.

As an Australian, my most similar cities are NY, LA, and Santa Clarita, with the entire western US red.
And this is my map

These quizzes never get me right, haha.  No one cares to get the nuances of Peoria, and I don't blame them.  Solid soda country in a sea of pop, not really an Iowa accent (which honestly sounds like perfectly phonetic English, LOL) but definitely not Chicago ... pretty much a mix of the two.

Boston/Worcester/Pembroke Pines. My only real similarities are in New England, Florida, and the southwest.

Got Baltimore, Newark, Yonkers.

Never lived in any of those places (or states), and in fact have never been to the two latter ones as far as I can remember, at least besides highway driving.

Most distinctive words were "sunshower" and "yard sale."

ETA:  I lived in Montgomery County, Maryland for a quick minute before I could talk

Rochester and Buffalo are 2 of my top 3. Makes sense since I say both "pop" and "sneakers". I don't sound like people from here though.

Boston/New York/Arlington (VA) according to that. But really I think my dialect is a cross between California and Western New England, which are both pretty generic-sounding.

Greensboro, NC
Durham, NC
Montgomery, AL

I mean I guess it makes sense cause a large part of my growing up was in Fayetteville, NC (as well as Virginia).
But I don't really think I sound very Southern when I talk.

This is bizzare.

I align strongly with CA, NV, MI, and Greater St. Louis. Odd assortment.
