In direct violation of the Goldwater Rule, though. It's probably still true.

-In direct violation of the Goldwater rule, and almost certainly false.

The professionals involved clearly know what they're putting at risk, and consider the situation serious enough to do so anyway. Just like the the leaks informing the public (and other branches of the government) about extensive contacts, these people are breaking the law, and knowingly doing so, because of a clear and present danger to the nation.

The sooner the deranged and compromised president is legally removed from office, the better.

It's really not up for dispute that the man is suffering from narcissistic personality disorder. He is such an unambiguous textbook example with a long, well documented history of this type of behavior.

Sounds like Trump should sue them for libel.

Actually agree, it is most likely true but they are not in a position to give a professional diagnosis.

-It's not narcissism if your abilities are consistently underestimated by other people, and your opinion of those abilities is consistently correct. "Trump won't run! Trump can't win nomination! Trump can't win the presidency!"

While something like this has a 0.00000000001% chance of convincing Congress to remove him, we know that he must HATE seeing people say this about him. Smiley

Sounds like Trump should sue them for libel.

Their defense would be to ask that he undergo an independent mental evaluation overseen by the court.

What do you think the odds of that happening?

They ought to lose their licenses. Speculative psychology belongs on internet forums, not open letters from "respected" shrinks who have never been in the same room as the man, much less have never spoken to him.

With half a semester (current grade: 90.5%) of Abnormal Psych at Tallahassee Community College, I am already professionally more qualified to make a diagnosis. I've actually met and spoke with the President for five seconds. They never have. So I'll have to make my judgement.

I say he's crazy for daring to take on the military-industrial complex, the growth of unrestricted free trade, mass migration, the transnational Super States and the self-righteous NGOs.

Loser snowflakes got triggered. How the hell did social workers even make the cut?

I remember this guy.

"Donald Trump had severe mental issues" will be a stated fact in future history textbooks. And having voted for him will be an embarrassment to all his supporters until the day they die.

That's my hope anyway.

I do think there's something seriously off with Trump (he's at the very least a terribly insecure narcissist), but you can't diagnose somebody you haven't examined properly. Not a fan of this, personally.

Knowing who the alternative was, perhaps having voted in 2016 at all (other than to write in Mickey Mouse) will be an embarrassment.

Of course Trump is a few bricks short of a wall, but in addition to being unethical this is also yet another example of the "use institutional and technocratic experts to scold Trump" school of  opposing him, which has been consistently and absolutely ineffectual. And considering some of the things in which the psychiatric profession and its institutions have themselves been complicit...
