It's like the House GOP has no idea how to be anything but the opposition.

So, in the midst of all these potential legal violations committed by Flynn and potentially the White House, Chaffetz decides that the proper course of action is to relitigate the email fiasco. Not only is this completely ridiculous and a perfect example of the absurd partisanship of the Republican Party, but also its total obliviousness to something called "optics."

I worked with this guy. He is not a political aide, he is just a low level IT admin who was working on his master's degree at the time, in 18 months he never even brought up politics that I recall. His job was to manage MS Exchange and Active Directory, etc. not a decision maker. Bryan Pagliano fully complied with all governmental investigations once he was granted immunity. If charges must be brought for Democrats in contempt of Congress, why not Eric Holder? There's a real elite. An attorney general. Or even Lois Lerner, who headed an agency. This person really is just a regular Joe who found himself caught up in the wrong political fight between big-wigs. Shame on Chaffetz.

Leaking to the press is perfectly legal if laws are being broken, like they were with Flynn.

Lying to the FBI is still a crime even if not under oath.

Chaffetz must have a personal vendetta against the Clintons. 2016 is over how long is her ghost going stay.

I wonder if he is doing it to try and take attention away from this Trump circus, or maybe in part to "please" the base.

Chaffetz/Republicans - particularly House Republicans, are not going to investigate until they absolutely cannot ignore it any longer. Investigating could very well lead to political damage to Trump, and damage to Trump is damage to the GOP in the 2018 midterms. It's all about maintaining power. Of course, I'm sure many of us assumed this would be the case but Trump is shining a light on just how far Congressional Republicans are willing to go to preserve their political power.

As long as the e-mails are still out there, the GOP won't focus on anything else.

Wow this is so sad and disgusting. The Republican party is in a very bad shape, and seems to have been corrupted to the core.
