A sort of bold edgy type who perpetually over-promises what he can deliver upon. That makes him annoying. But he does actually fund some innovative technologies. Eh, mixed I suppose.

We were warned of this for so long, yet most did not listen

Says something that the usual crowd still defended him back in the day.

Love the number of left-wingers who called Elon an FF...Anyway, I support his efforts to help the environment with Tesla and his EV's and whatnot, but the guy personally is just a very weird HP grifter (BRTD in the OP was pretty much correct - kudos to him).

I take full responsibility for having voted Elon a FF in 2017 and apologize to the forum for this decision. We are all only human, after all.

I get that many people hate Elon Musk for his weird Twitter posts and questionable opinions, but I think it's important that we put this all in perspective. The man is still a major humanitarian and philanthropist who has donated significant amounts of essential equipment to the Ukrainian war effort and other important causes. He supports UBI and has given considerable donations to the Yokohama Institute for Financial Freedom, which studies the effects of basic income policies in developing countries and gives away sizable amounts of its funding to poor villages in Africa and the Indian subcontinent. If you're interested in this, google "Musk YIFF" to learn more.

I wish he could qualify to run as President.

Yeah, having another billionaire narcissist as President would definitely solve our current problems. Roll Eyes

More and more people are saying this every day.

If this guy posted anywhere on the Internet saying the stuff that he actually believes, he'd be considered a troll. Oh and he's basically a con artist too.

Credit to BRTD here, he knew from the beginning.

FF. Pushes technology to new heights and supports universal basic income.

No he doesn't. He has enough money on his own to start his own UBI system. He has enough money to do so much more then buy Twitter to make it friendlier to the right. You can't be serious.

On some level I have to pity him. He has the money to be anything anyone can ever want except for the one thing he wants most: the simple pleasure of telling a joke and seeing it land. He so desperately wants to be funny but just isn't. He just doesn't have it in him and can't buy it. Tragic stuff

Pathetic and dreadful, but he's potentially going to ruin Twitter for liberal pundits which is a good thing.

This thread is an illustration of why modern American liberalism is such a hideous worldview. Censorship and tyranny by technocracy is its core modus operandi.

He is part of the class of international businessmen who want you to own nothing and like it. Literally part of the technocracy and at the forefront of waging war on "Freedom" in another theater of operations (See below).

The fact that a number of right wingers and conservatives have fallen in love with this guy simply because he puts out a few tweets attacking Biden and buys Twitter in the name of "free speech", is astounding. This guy was a liberal who built his car company on the back of Obama's subsidies and now has only turned against them because they are going after his monopolistic business practices.

The guy is a grifter and he wants a payoff, most likely in the form of the reversal of the FTC's right to repair rules. Tesla routinely opposes Right to Repair Initiatives.

That way he can dictate what gets repaired and what isn't and force people to buy more of his expensive cars, meanwhile putting independent and small auto repair and mechanics out of business. The same way Apple denies repairs for $15 charge ports to force people to buy $700 phones, restricts access to chips and schematics, attacks independent repair as a security risk and then proceeds to have a massive leak of private data facilitated by its "certified technicians".

Wake the hell up.
