What does it take for Mike Pence to publically break up with Trump? What I don't believe is, that he is loyal to Trump under any circumstances.

I think it much depends on congress. If more bad things on Russia come out and Ryan/McConnell get unfriendly towards Trump, Pence would probably side with them. And he wouldn't have to lose very much, since he can't be fired. The opposite is true, he could become president if congress decides to impeach the Donald.

after all the lies and contradictions during the campaign.....maybe the ted cruz treatment?

otherwise...he is tough in this area and got a nice tolerance for pain.

i respect him more than conway/priebus/spicer et al and his views are by far the worst in my eyes.

Nothing. Pence has absolutely no morals, principles, or shame.

Nothing. Pence has wanted to be President since 18 and he is Vice President, and a very obedient one, because he anticipates becoming the 46th President through Trump's removal. It's why he accepted the vice presidency, on the gamble that it would lead to the Presidency.

A combination of

Nothing. Pence has absolutely no morals, principles, or shame.

and

Pence's confidence that Trump will be successfully removed form office in short order.

Why would he quit a job that he basically doesn't have to do anything and is all but guaranteed that he'll be President sometime in the next 6 years?

I can see him throwing Trump under the bus in the name of Jesus should we get so lucky and Trump is impeached, although impeachment hearings and investigations are probably never going to happen since it isn't Hillary Clinton who has the eerily close relationship with Putin and Russia.

I meant that Pence will back Trump up until the moment when Pence thinks a successful impeachment is imminent, or that Trump can be successfully removed by the Cabinet. Then he'll do whatever he needs to put Trump down and become President.

If something like that were to happen, it would be one of Pence's daughters. Trump likes em young.

Maybe something crazy like lying to him for two weeks about the NSA misleading him into spreading further lies. Oh wait, no that's not it.

Even though intercepted calls showed that Trump's aides were in repeated contact with Russian intelligence officials throughout the campaign, and that Michael Flynn held five calls with Russia on the day the sanctions were imposed (and was later fired for it)? That comparison doesn't make any sense.

I bet Pence is already carrying a copy of the 25th amendment around in his pocket.

Borowitz had a hilarious parody on this.

Democrats need a nice scapegoat since their candidate ended up losing Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania to Donald Trump.

Trump must declare Pence an enemy of the American people on Twitter.
