Some say he's the Millennials Michael Jackson, I think he's a good singer but no where near MJ levels.

Anyway, aside from I Can't Feel My Face, I don't really like his songs.

I just listened and watched Earned It which he did for Fifty Shades of Grey

I like some of his stuff. Not a fan of the individual behind the music though.

I'd heard the name, but had no idea....youtubed.....yawn, pop music still sucks...who knew?  I was hoping it was that two piece band where the drummer is always hopping....my wife loves that song from the Suicide Club soundtrack by them and I have a love hate relationship with it now.

but The Weekend is not them, it's some boring guy singing boring while boring (obviously computer created) music plays.  Music should be fun, not boring.  Music should be made by humans, not computers....and I know where this argument goes and I just did it all my head to save time.  My final line is "yeah, well, synthicizers are barely musical instruments and they killed what little was good about Van Halen!"  Needless to say, I lost that argument and computers are perfectly acceptable ways to make music...and who the hell am I to say whether that's true or not,  or whether this dude sings boring sh**t.  If people enjoy him, good for them.  How I feel about it means nothing to them.

Those three songs are definitely, by far, his best. Personally, I prefer his style to MJ's, but I acknowledge the content and talent of MJ's work was considerably better.

"Bad Singer" in the sense that I personally dislike his music, not that he has a particular lack of talent or anything. If it were FF vs. HP I'd probably vote FF.

As far as current top 40 music goes, he's one of the best. It's not a high bar at all, but it's clear he has real talent.
