A long time ago, a series of polls pretty much concluded this.

Is it true for this incarnation of atlas?

Yeah but 9 voted for Trump, the same 9 that voted against same-sex marriage. And 13 voted for LePage. It has lurched to the right, just like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

EDIT: To expand on this, Romney was a really bad fit for Maine. This is Ross Perot's best state. We love our populists.

-Bush won only 2 counties in Maine in 2004, though it's true Kerry was kinda populist (good fit for the entire North).

If you think Maine is bad, just cross the Southern border. You'll be back in Maine within an hour, lol.
I did go to high school with a girl who said going to Atlanta was a bigger culture shock than going to Seoul.

What's wrong with Joisey?Huh

Although I was born there and my mom moved out of state when I was extremely young, I still get offended by the "Joisey Jokes" from the elitist New York residents of the City....  j/k   Wink

Every time there would be a stench in the air anywhere in New York City, the old joke was "The wind must be blowing from Joisey"....

Sure there are plenty of jokes about the New Jersey Turnpike...

Now Post Bridge-Gate, I am sure there are a ton of jokes every time there is a traffic jam crossing the main bridges into the City from Bergen County....

Not even going to go into the local resident stockpile of Joey buttafuoco jokes.... these used to play well on both sides of the Hudson.

Now, I am sure many residents of the Forum from Metro NYC have a giant stock of jokes regarding their neighbor across the river, but hell at least we have a ton of organic community gardens in the Garden State, as opposed to the denizens of Gotham. Smiley

IMHO: Let's just make this a thread for self-deprecating jokes about NJ, combined with jokes from residents of NYC, since I'm sure that crap can fly in both directions in a tough talking part of the country....
