SOUTHERN ELECTION

Sjoycefla (LAB) - 27 (55%)
Leinad (FED) (inc.) - 22 (45%)

JIERA RATING
Rating: Tilt LAB

The Senate race is shaping up to potentially be an upset like the regional races last month, which could give Labor a solid majority in the Senate, with four Laborites and just one Federalist, and making a coalition with left-leaning independent Siren, the Federalists wouldn't be a in a good position. However, nothing is certain, and Leinad certainly has a chance of coming back. We'll have more updates for you tomorrow.

Here's a spreadsheet that I will update live as the votes come in for the Southern Chamber of Delegates.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1duo-ZB4jXUm6kJRThPe5ZLFtCOjU5vf-R_KuFIX-ILA/edit?usp=sharing
Although Labor will not win this election as they only have two candidates, many Laborites consider the left-of-center Federalist fhtagn an ally and have voted for her. It looks like the best outcome Labor can get right now is for both of their candidates to win and for fhtagn to also be re-elected. Conservatives are in general looking to re-elect Ben and keep Labor from winning two seats.

Given the unexplained #WriteInTimTurner movement we're downgrading two of our projections to "apparent winners" until we can figure out what the hell is going on.

APPARENT WINNER
fhtagn (FED) (inc.)

APPARENT WINNER
JustinTimeCuber (LAB) (inc.)

(sighs) this is why I can't ever step away from elections, incompetence abound. Well played Labor, good game.

I'm still super confused and guarantee that someone's gonna get really angry after this, probably either me or Ben.

It's
(Votes/(Seats+1))+1
Rounded down
At least that's what #Labor told me

I thought it was votes/candidates rounded up (which I suppose would be the same as +1 rounded down in most cases).

We need to pass a law clarifying this

e: Here's the problem with that calculation:
Say there are 36 votes for 6 candidates, split evenly. Under that quota calculation the quota would be 6 for 5 seats. Then you are forced to break the principle that if you make the quota you are elected.

Just to note I'm reviewing and I think Peebs's main error (which I have relayed via pm) is that she put JTC on 6, when he was really on 7.

Again, I invalidated Talleyrand due to not fulfilling posting requirements which may or may not exist.

I'd like to brag that even in this crazy election, we never projected anyone to win who ended up losing!
