It's real and much worse than regular political correctness. Oldskool political correctness, as annoying as it can be at times, at least stems from a good place: An idea about treating people equally and being sensitive towards the feelings of other people (and yes, I too get annoyed when PC liberals freak out over a sexist joke or something similar). Populist correctness is about the exact opposite, about elevating the feelings of the dominant white christian majority above those of everybody else.
