Senator from Illinois, 1951-1969 and Republican leader from 1959-1969.

Voted FF. He helped to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and supported Democratic president Lyndon Johnson on civil rights. I wish today's congressional Republicans would take this guy as an example.
