I don't see how "Gothic" is relevant to you. White trash has good irony value, at least.

Southern Gothic is a literary genre. I've always taken Southern Gothic's name as a reference to that.

Yep. I grew up loving Faulkner and McCarthy, so I started using the name as a tribute to them.

I've been going through Caldwell recently. Kind of forgotten, not the same level as Faulkner, but quite good IMHO.

Nope. Maybe a bit more on cultural and social issues, but overall my economics and general view of class are still leftist.
