In short, the Häupl-wing is opposed to co-operation with the FPÖ, rules out a coalition with them on the state and federal level and otherwise fights against the FPÖ.

The Niessl-wing is in favour of co-operation with the FPÖ, doesn't rule out a coalition with them on the state and federal level (or even wants one) and otherwise doesn't fight against the FPÖ and even praises some of their policies or actions.

That's tricky ...

On the one hand, I don't want to have the FPÖ in any state or federal coalition. With one exception: if the coalition is like the one in Burgenland, where the SPÖ has 45% of the vote and the FPÖ just 10%. A coalition like this works pretty awesome with the SPÖ dictating and the FPÖ being the small appendix. I'm not so sure though if this coalition would work on the federal level though, with each party having around 30%. Maybe with a Chancellor Kern and the SPÖ finishing a few points ahead of them. But with a Chancellor Strache ? Hell no.

On the other hand, SPÖVP is so worn out already that it's painful to watch each day now. They are just out there to kick the other into their balls the whole time. So, virtually anything else would be better than this current government.

SPÖ-Greens-NEOS is impossible. FPÖVP is something else I'd never want to see again.

It's hard to say, but I lean towards the Niessl-wing at this point - but only if the SPÖ finishes ahead of the FPÖ after a hard-fought campaign and Kern remains Chancellor. Then the FPÖ can show if they are ready for prime-time or just talkers. If they fail, there's a good chance that the FPÖ comes out weaker ...

So, "Not a SPÖ-voter/member, but Niessl".

Depends what such coalition would actually do.

I forgot to mention that I would only support SPÖ-FPÖ at the federal level only if the FPÖ agrees to and signs a solidly pro-European coalition contract (which is what the SPÖ demands anyway, they are currently working on a criteria-catalogue for the FPÖ and a future coalition with them).

I meant to click the third option but accidentally clicked the second.

In Austria, I would be a NEOS voter who sometimes votes for Stronach, Greens, and some independents.
