Well, obviously, option 2, but there are certainly other reasons nobody ever uses, say, NYC subway station restrooms. Bathrooms that public are always super gross

For whatever reason, whenever people identify a restroom as being public, they feel empowered to gross out the place in a way they would never allow to happen at home.

Sadly, this seems to be a common attitude people have toward all public utilities. This is one of the reasons I'm skeptical of eliminating public property, though I have no attachment to it on moral grounds.

that's demonstrably not true.  Perhaps it would be better to say public bathrooms cleaned by union employees are always super gross"?  But that doesn't hold up either I suppose....maybe it's "public bathrooms used regularly by poor people are always super gross"?...wait, one more caveat.

"public bathrooms, open 24/7, used regularly by poor people are always super gross"

People who don't wash their hands or simply rinse for a second after using the restroom are disgusting individuals.

Neglecting the handwashing after you take a dump is only a problem if you're the one preparing my meal.  Trannies in the men's room is only a problem if they're so hot as to be distracting, which is almost never the case.  Almost.

On balance, I'd say that lack of toilet hygiene poses a bigger potential problem.

Obviously people not washing their hands, though that is an issue that public policy is perhaps even less well equipped to deal with than policing who uses which restroom.   The lack of restrooms open to the general public in many places on the other hand is an important issue that policy may be able to help address.

I believe you mean private property.

Eliminating private property would coincidentally eliminate privacy, by the way.

52-2 Smiley

All the problems described in write-in comments are worse than Option 1, except the "problem" described below isn't so bad.

Write-in: men who use toilets to pee but put down the toilet seat when done

-------

People who don't wash their hands or simply rinse for a second after using the restroom are disgusting individuals.

Are you saying people who don't simply rinse for a second or those who do, are "disgusting individuals"?
