1,600 Americans nationwide were interviewed online 02/16/17. Of them, 94% (1,500) focus 1 hour or more each day on current events and were asked the questions here. An equal number of Republicans and Democrats were interviewed. The names of the 35 officials were randomly presented to respondents.

Love the Bern.

And the Democrats took the knife out and nailed him in the back with it.

Where are all those buffoons who were saying that the likes of Klobuchar, Gillibrand and Harris were nationally-known figures in this thread? Even McConnell is only at 57% name recognition. (which is exactly what I said in that thread)

You people need to get out and interact with some real Americans.

It doesn't matter. Once Sanders policies cost $$$$$, then people will balk. Also, Christie can still win a Senate seat.

I think Bernie needs to stay where he's at. I don't want him to be President. I think he's more effective where he is.

What I want for a President is someone who both sides have respect for and can work with.

Done with all this partisan chit. We need to get things done in this country, and we can only do that when people are cooperating with one another. With no one side ramming policies down the throats of the other side.

We need to start having conversations in this country. Let's talk it over and make decisions based on what makes sense and what is best for everyone.

That is the ONLY way and I am waiting for the day. Hopefully it will come before I die.

I'll never vote for Sander's in a primary, and I look forward to casting my vote for Gillibrand if she runs. Democrats are a big tent party, who knew...

So you don't want a big tent party.  You just want the corporatists to always have the final say and everyone else can go eff themselves.  Gotcha.

You can't win elections though if you keep telling people they're not wanted in the party.

You do know that Clinton lost, right? To the least likable GOP nominee in history?

I honestly hoped people would give up the 'electability' argument once it was proven false, but it clearly was just a front for cowardice rather than a reasoned position.

I honestly have no idea where this conversation is going. I'm saying we shouldn't cripple ourselves in terms of campaign contributions and just because a candidate takes money wealthy people doesn't make them a Corporate shill. When we have a majority on the supreme court, then we can talk about money in politics. Nothing to do with electability. And I voted for Clinton because, like 55% of dem primary voters, I thought she was the better choice. I still do. We can only speculate if Sanders would have won or not, but does it even matter now?

If you're going to make the same mistakes in 2018 and 2020, it definitely matters.
