To get this out of the way:

Past Results

Wendell Willkie vs Charles McNary: Willkie 66.6%
Tom Dewey vs John Bricker: Dewey 65%
Tom Dewey vs Earl Warren: Warren 54.5%
Adlai Stevenson vs John Sparkman: Stevenson 93.3%
Adlai Stevenson vs Estes Kefauver: Kefauver 73.1%
Richard Nixon vs Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr.: Lodge 52.2%
Barry Goldwater vs William Miller: Goldwater 72.2%
Hubert Humphrey vs Edmund Muskie: Muskie 52.4%

George Wallace vs Curtis LeMay: Wallace 70.8%
George McGovern vs Thomas Eagleton vs Sargent Shriver: McGovern/Shriver 70%, 1st Round -> McGovern 52%, Run-off

Gerald Ford vs Bob Dole: Ford 81.8%
John Anderson vs Patrick Lucey: Anderson 66.7%

With that out of the way, who shall it be this time?

The accomplished, but boring one who did fortunately make a good point about Wendy's?

Or the first woman on any side of the big ticket?

Your choose.

This is probably one of the few cases besides Republicans where I'll vote for Mondale.

I'll note that Ferraro is easily the best of the three women put onto the ticket, but that's not enough to save her this time.
