Personally, I've never had any kind of religious or supernatural experience in my life. Perhaps the closest was a conversation my mom had with a psychic that showed they knew things I couldn't logically explain they'd know. But I'm very skeptical even of that and generally believe there's a logical explanation for that, somehow. I've never felt like God has communicated with me in any way, like I've witnessed a miracle, experienced something ghostly, or anything like that.

Back when I was religious I thought I had one, it turned out to be mixed episode (simultaneous depression and hypomania) and stress

Do you believe some people do have genuine religious or supernatural experiences?

No.

My mildly aspergic mind is good at rationalising things that appear fantastical.

Short answer: no.  However, I voted "Not Sure," as I suppose the supernatural could easily "reveal" Itself through totally normal, seemingly unobservable ways?

I have claimed to have had an apotheosis, without the divine part, but see it as more of just finding what Jung and Freud would call my Father Complex.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Father_complex

In my case, when that happened, I also think I found (with telepathy), what I would call a cosmic consciousness but that I would not call supernatural because science seems to be proving it's existence.

 http://www.sciforums.com/threads/famous-neuroscientist-proves-telepathy.140351/

What I dislike about all this is that I have no proof other than a living victim to my telepathy unless you believe this science.

Telepathy is NOT science, until science could make it happen eventually

I agree, but the science I linked and noetic science is replicating it at a lower level than what I experienced.

Perhaps it is a matter of brain conditioning but I feel it is more related to strong desire. That is why I have not been able to do it again.

Silly as it is, I maintain my TV once spoke to me.

I was like 8 and playing a video game for the snes. At an early part of the game I was asked to enter my name, and put in a minor curse (damn, I think). I played the game for maybe ten minutes more before this white noise started to come out of the TV. It was distinctly a feminine voice, but I couldn't make out anything else over the electronic screeching. Naturally I grew terrified and turned off the TV entirely, as opposed to just the game system, but the voice persisted for a few seconds even after everything was shut off. A few minutes later I turned the TV and game back on, only to find my save file had been deleted. It could have just been a glitch, but I loved that game and played it for maybe 70+ hours afterwards and never again had any problems with the game cartridge, which I would think I would given this happened immediately after I got the game.

Yes I know it's a very lamesauce experience, but It's always stuck with me. Tongue

Other than that, I've had a few experiences with feeling what I believe to be God's presence. I once felt like I was having warm oil poured over me and an incredible peace. Such a specific experience to label, but I later found someone who described having the same exact experience and used the same words. I've always found that interesting, though can't rule out maybe having read about someone using the same words and applying them to my own experiences subconsciously. But I still like to believe it was more than that.

Yes, my time in Israel changed my life.

(one other experience too, but I won't get into that)

I've definitely had feelings of being called to do something, and there are events in my life that I feel were miracles. However, I don't consider myself to be a prophet, and I'm not sure if God has ever directly spoken to me (although he has definitely influenced my thoughts about various situations).

To all.

Have you considered that your epiphany was cause by what Jung and Freud called your father complex.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Father_complex

Seems to me that that natural epiphany is easier to swallow than thinking some supernatural entity is communicating with you.

I'd rather not use Freudian psychology when explaining hallucinations

Activating your right hemisphere is not hallucination.

The Father Complex is synonymous to me to represent our primal instincts.

Where do you think those are in our minds and how do you think they express themselves?

Your right hemisphere is always "activated", unless you had a stroke or some sort of trauma

Not in the esoteric mystical sense.

Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
