So over the weekend, Peter King, Lee Zeldin, and John Katko all skipped their townhall meetings in wake of the protests. How dangerous is this being they all are from a blue state and none of their districts are GOP strongholds. How woks most likely get hurt from this?

King is fully entrenched in that seat. He can do whatever he likes. As for the other two, it depends on whether upstate and Long island turn on Trump.

As much as I'd like to see Katko go, I'm skeptical.  Onondaga County did not support Trump.  At all.  He got 40% of the vote, but Katko still won because Smiley establishment R cloaked as moderate hero Smiley.  Combine that with horrendous turnout for the left in midterms in the area, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him win in a landslide in 2018.

King's district is only R+1

That can be deceiving in some instances. CA-21 is D+5, yet Valadao (R) has won in landslides in each of the past 3 elections. Sometimes districts have distinctly different preferences downballot, and/or an incumbent makes enough of a name for themselves that they can run somewhat independent of the top of the ticket.

Peter King's district loves him. He's blue collar. He represents the Long Island blue collar base of his district and he's the voice of the NY G.O.P. sometimes. He'll be reelected in 2018 and 2020, even if Steve Bellone runs against him.

Staten Island/Brooklyn Congressman Dan Donovan is skipping town halls as well, however he represents a Trump district and it is a pretty conservative borough of NYC.
