I honestly can't think of a single positive facet to either.

McKinley (not a fan of the father of American progressivism)
Teddy Roosevelt isn't included in the poll.

Appreciate the joke.  Anyway, Teddy is much more in the mold of Trump: a conservative who is sick of the CURRENT conservative leadership, sees it as failing the common man and willing to be the "outsider" who takes action against it.  While a "populist" who used the term progressive (which doesn't mean the same thing in each era, obviously) to describe himself, I'd argue Teddy represents "right populism" of his time.  He still hammered through the traditionally Republican ideals of self reliance and economic individualism, he simply also took it to the moneyed interests of the time.  In the same way that Trump is no Bernie Sanders, Teddy Roosevelt is no William Jennings Bryan (and in fact hated him, LOL).

The fact that Andrew Jackson used means and methods that modern conservatives might be fond of to achieve his rather liberal vision of society is of no interest to me; I'm more concerned with his methods, and they were to distort the economy of his time for some unrealistic vision of an economy that benefits the "common (White) man."  In the same way that Rahm Emanuel using federalism to defy Donald Trump is not "conservative," Andrew Jackson was no conservative, either.  Also, as a banker myself, I'm not going to be a fan of anyone who spends his every waking breath trashing the people.

Republican McKinley helped launch the second Industrial Expansion after the Lincoln Republicans helped put it in high gear. A generation of industrial expansion was the result and by extension, economic prosperity. Conservatives should laud the era 1896 to 1932, as one of the most successful generally conservative eras (I realize the Populist Era was in here, but they operated within the constraints of pro-Industrial conservatism).

And more died in World War II than both, what the hell is your point?
