I think McKinley is the better president as under his presidency America became a world power economically and militarily .

Jackson didn't give the U.S. the current problems in Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the Philippines. Also, he supported freer trade. So, naturally, Jackson.

McKinley didnt destabilize our monetary system as Jackson did , and unlike Jackson didnt leave office with our country mired in a major recession.

McKinley didn't need to destroy any central bank because Jackson did so himself. Another mark in Jackson's favor.

Second, that's because McKinley was assassinated in office. When someone tried to assassinate Jackson in office, Jackson survived. Another mark in Jackson's favor. Van Buren left office with the country mired in a major recession, not Jackson (though the recession was partly triggered by Jackson's policies). He remains the only Democrat president to succeed a two-or-more-term Democrat president who didn't die in office. Another mark in Jackson's favor.

Harry Truman

The fact is McKinley turned this country into a world power, and that puts him ahead of Jackson.

Only people who would put Jackson above McKinley are Populists(From either side), Labor Democrats, Isolationists, and business hating democrats.

Jackson.

None of this is because of what they did, but rather whom they stopped from reaching office.

The one that didn't f**k up the country's economy, defy the Supreme Court, owned slaves, violated the law, and committed genocide.
