God, I haven't really tried to impress people very often because I'm terrible at everything. I've probably played some terrible music with the hope of impressing someone at some point?

Opinion of Dave Brubeck?

Phenomenal. I listen to the DBQ album (with Take Five and others) regularly.

If you could do so without legal consequences, what living person, famous or otherwise, would you punch?

A local alcoholic bullying incompetent lawyer who serves on the local common council - truly a horrible person. Heck, he almost punched me at a council subcommittee meeting a couple of nights ago. But he's famous only in Hudson and environs. So to name someone really famous, Donald Trump. I want him, up close and personal - and no, not in that way. I find him physically repulsive, but I digress.

What would you like to do for a living, if practicality were not an issue? Any fantasies in that regard? Just to prime the pump, for myself, I would like to be an architect. Thank you.

I'd probably be a writer.  When I'm extremely stressed and everything seems like it's going wrong; I can sit down for a couple hours and work on one of several stories I'm writing just for my own enjoyment.  When I'm writing, I feel like whatever's wrong or stressful is going to be okay and I can just forget about all of my troubles.  That said, it seems like an incredibly difficult way to make a living and the question I asked myself was "If no one liked my stories, I made so little money from writing that I was in a 'starving artist' situation, etc would I still be content so long as I could write?"  Honestly, I don't think I would be Sad  I love writing stories, but it's not my dream/passion, so it shall remain a hobby.  The other thing is that I write stories largely for myself and that it's kind of like an escapist zone that exists just for me and I think you lose some of that if you share it with other people.  On the bright side, it has dramatically improved my writing abilities which should serve me well in law school Tongue

I suppose another answer might be a theatre, TV, or film critic given both my love of film and theatre (especially musical theatre) and (warning: incoming Hot Take Tongue ) the dramatic increase in the number of high-quality television programs.  I save up money so that I can spend a week in NYC every few years and see about 5-6 broadway shows with seats literally right in the center of the front row during each trip (during my trip last October, I saw The Phantom of the Opera...for the second time, The Color Purple revival, The Humans, The Book of Mormon...for the third time, and The Lion King).  Alas, I brought quite a lot of bullying upon myself by trying to talk to classmates about some of the musicals I liked during middle school (which led to many folks wrongly assuming that I was gay and behaving the way middle school boys tended to behave circa 2004 when they thought someone was gay).  I love discussing, debating, and analyzing movies, TV shows, and plays.  But I digress...

What's a time where someone you know had a real positive impact upon your life (however you choose to define this) by doing something that either they were likely unaware would have such a positive impact or probably didn't seem like a big deal to them?  I've been thinking about It's a Wonderful Life and the idea that everyone can touch plenty of other people's lives without even realizing it (especially through random acts of kindness), hence the question.

Many years ago I did a series of science presentations to a local class of first graders. A dozen years later at our local summer festival I ran into a young man home from college. I didn't recognize him when he came up to me, but he introduced himself as one of those first graders. He said he was inspired to become a science teacher, and was taking classes towards that end.

Once, coming down on a sunny day.

Because I thought Torie's answer was so interesting, I'll reiterate my earlier question: If you could do so without legal or social consequences, what person--famous or otherwise--would you punch?

Ted Cruz.

What's the worst torture of the English language you've seen on the Internet?

Examples:

Cuando someone types en Spanglish
When someone torchers the spelling of a word

etc.

I knew that would happen LLR...it's Atlas...so presumably they dont like sandwiches or onions or black pepper or fruit or vegetables.  They like yellow food...chicken fingers, french fries...corn maybe...

My favorite deli sandwich is pastrami.  2nd would be a ham and swiss or a club.

What color is your aura today?

Forests easily.

What do you do when some a**hole driver slightly behind you has the high beams on, so that you constantly have to look into the rear-view mirrow because the a**hole forgot to turn them off ?
