They need to get Alec Baldwin to go instead.

I'm sure the wife beater and horrible child abusing father volunteered.

The whole thread is about the fact that he's boycotting it, but too chicken to say so (because it would make him look even more petty, stupid and cowardly).

The main reason Donnie won't go is simple. He's a cuck who can't deal with criticism in any setting.

That's the REAL truth. Defenders of Trump will never admit that.

1. He bailed because he knew his standup act would fail, coward.

2. If the comedian goes all out against trump, trump will come out as the victim.

I think the reason he's skipping can be summed up in one picture:

He had no issue rubbing shoulders with the Washington media elite six years ago (as a guest of the Washington Post, mind you). He had no problem that it was a crowd largely hostile to his politics. This is his opportunity to take those sons of Bs to town on his own turf, but he won't.

Politically, Trump had everything to gain and nothing to lose by attending.  Despite all his readily apparent faults, it would be fairly easy for the comedian roasting him to go too far, especially in the eyes of his supporters.  Despite displaying an obvious thin skin in 2011, he still managed to show up in 2015 (and maybe a few other times).  However, as President, he would be expected to do more than attend and self-deprecating comedy is not Trump's forte. If he spoke at the WHCA dinner, he'd show himself to be the least effective president at stand-up comedy since FDR.

I absolutely hate the White House Correspondents Dinner and think it should be abolished.

By boycotting it, Trump is just going to turn it into a horrible Internet sensation for everyone who is a self-proclaimed member of the hashtag Resistance or whatever the hell idiot left Twitter is on these days.

My mom has a theory about this that he's skipping the dinner to personally fly somewhere and kill some supervillain to try to out-do Obama in 2011.

It would be awesome if Trump personally killed the only super-villain threatening the US right now. Not that I think the cowardly dictator has it in him, or even owns a gun. (Though I suppose there are other ways he could do it.)

At Trump hotel. Secret Service swarms the place. Trump walks in, sits down next to me w/ Gov. Rick Scott, Nigel Farage, Ivanka & Kuchner

 Two things:
1. Farage was not invited to this dinner. Squeezed in at last second
2. Sec. State Tillerson is dining  w/wife alone across room

I asked Trump if he would be attending the White House Correspondents Dinner.
He said: "No. Do you like that?"
People cheered behind me.

What is so bad about the WHCD Dinners? It's about celebrating journalism and journalistic ethics. Is that bad these days despite Trump's war vs. the media?

it's not about that. it's about celebrating how chummy the relationship between the media and the politicians are. That's unacceptable.

Exactly. That's exactly why Trump has absolutely no motivation to go. He doesn't haven't a cosy relationship with the liberal establishment media. Furthermore he has no motive to pretend that he does, either to the WHCA themselves or to the public. His entire PR strategy is based around discrediting the highly biased and ideologically driven liberal corporate media.

Saying that Trump isn't showing up to the WHCA dinner because he's "scared" is like saying that Obama never showed up to CPAC because he was scared. Obama wasn't 'scared' of going to CPAC, its just that he had absolutely no motivation to attend. Likewise President Trump and the WHCA dinner.

I always found it refreshing to see the politicians have a bit of a sense of humor and show them getting along with people they didn't necessarily love.  It made them ya know, normal.  Guess you prefer to see your politicians only in a state of anger and paranoia^
