How would US politicians translate into the Swiss party spectrum? Something like this?:

Swiss Peoples' Party = Trumpist Republicans
Social Democratic Party = Modal Democrats (e.g. Obama, Clinton, Schumer)
Free Democratic Party. The Liberals = "Establishment" Republicans (e.g. Rubio, Ryan, Kasich)
Christian Democratic Peoples' Party = Evangelical Republicans (e.g. Huckabee, Santorum, Franks)
Green Party = Sanderistas

Only going by the four Swiss government parties, in terms of a presidential election, I could see something like this:

American People's Party (America First-style conservatives, Trump would probably lead this party)
Social Democrats (progressives, Bernie Sanders would probably lead this party)
FDP.The Liberals (probably establishment Democrats)
Christian Democratic People's Party of America (probably establishment Republicans)

Agree that UDC and PLR are like Trump and "establishment" republicans respectvely.

However, PDC are far, far to the left of Evangelical Republicans (and are a strictly Cathlolic party). For example PDC are very pro-environment and pro-immigration, and are generally well to the left economically , than PLR. That said, PDC is a big church because its heartlands are still the rural, right wing, religious cantons.

PS are also well to the left of your standard  dems. The PS support single payer healthcare, universal basic income, and have even supported a nationwide salary cap in recent years. In most respects, PS and the Greens are indistinguishable in policy. The Greens just have a more urban, Francophone support base.

The "establishment" Dems are probably closest to the Green Liberals; and the Bernie Sanders wing is possibly closest in outlook to the POP/PST/solidarites.

What about Cruz/Paul/Amash Republicans. They're neither Trumpistas or Establishment
