I'm so glad Viola Davis won, she's so talented and deserves it so much, and has been a champion of her hometown Central Falls, Rhode Island. (She was basically the only reason why I watched tonight)

And the 32-year-old Damien Chazelle won Best Director, someone else from Rhode Island!

Hacksaw Ridge's two wins made me happy. There were a few mild surprises that I've liked, even if most of the favorites have won. Suicide Squad winning for makeup was kind of hilarious though.

Apparently, reading the winner from the wrong envelope is something that did in fact happen once before....more than 50 years ago, Sammy Davis Jr. was given the wrong envelope, though the mistake was corrected right away in that case:

If you think that the Oscars, the most snobbish of all the awards shows, would risk their reputation on this, you’re mistaken. This was likely an honest mistake, but you’d better believe they’re going to try and capitalize off this for next year.
