A bit off topic, but I recently noticed that Poland has no female ski jump team, which is pretty sad considering their male team is rather good these days.

Interesting. I'm sad to hear this about Poland. Has the EU punished or warned Poland to fix this? I remember in the 90's when we here in Portugal had a similar problem and the EU obligated the country to approve all those environmental policies.

I'm really hoping for that. We have an "Environment" Minister who said there's smog because we don't burn enough of Polish coal, since Polish coal is "clean".

If they're still burning a lot of coal, they probably still do. Coal burning is the main cause of acid rain. Though it usually falls somewhere to the east of the burning site, so the acid rain may be worse in Belarus or Russia from Polish coal (could explain a decline in the problem in Poland since Germany has moved sharply away from coal).

Yes, we're burning a lot of coal. Having large reserves of coal is kind of political fetish here.

Like Austria has no relevant women's biathlon team. Stuff happens. ;-)
