What would the DNC chair race be like if it was held like a presidential primary, but in early 2017?

That depends. Is it like a presidential primary, or is it just one day nationwide?

Like a presidential primary, except it's for the office of DNC chair rather than presidential nominee.

If only registered Democrats could vote, I'd say Perez. His chances would increase if it were staggered elections held over time, as opposed to a single day of voting.
