Let's say after Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, it was down to two Democrats running in the Democratic primaries... Andrew Cuomo and Oprah Winfrey.

Cuomo is considering Debbie Wasserman-Schultz as his running mate, after her image is rehabilitated for some Democrats due to 4 years of frustration with the Bernie wing, and her experience and coming from the swing state of Florida.

Oprah is considering Bernie Sanders as her running mate, wanting to shake-up the system and show she's serious about true policy reform like single-payer healthcare, and not superficial or out-of-her-depth like Trump, plus the backlash against Trump/RyanCare has been pretty strong and has more people than ever supporting single-payer.

If you're a likely 2020 Democratic Primary Voter... who would you support?

In the other poll, many were saying "Oprah only because she has a (D) next to her name, but I'd rather the Democrat be anyone else." So I wonder if those same people would rather have Cuomo/DWS.

In this case, Oprah.

In spite of all the troubling bigotry and narcissism from Trump, I still think that one of his major issues is a lack of experience in politics.

I would support Oprah's platform, especially single payer, passionately, but I'm really not certain she's capable of getting any of it enacted. I wouldn't vote for her in the primary unless Cuomo or Booker were the only other options and even then I'd have to wait to see who she picked as her VP. Sanders could definitely bring me on board, but overall if she crashes trying to enact progressive policy, she will make progressive policy look bad and I'd rather Cuomo crash and burn in the general than risk discrediting important policy ideas.

Very few candidates name their running mate while the primaries are still going on.  If you wait for her to pick her VP, then you'd likely be waiting until the primaries are over.

I don't think it's lack of experience as much as lack of Curiosity, and lack of Appreciation for government.

I mean, most of us on this forum aren't elected officials, but almost all of us (sadly) know more than Trump does and would behave better than Trump has been behaving. It's because we have a Curiosity that has led us to research these things about both policies and process, and for many of us there's some kind of Appreciation for the process of government. Whereas Trump doesn't think government works so he isn't filling posts and isn't following procedures, likes putting the system in chaos, isn't naturally curious and just wants to get his way, etc.

Oprah lol no thank you.. Cuomo is one of my least fav Democrat governors but at least he still gets some stuff through, and will go where the wind blows.  If it were to his benefit to govern from center-left he would.  Oprah has Clinton type Repub-lite policies written allover her.

These two would be near the bottom of my list, but Oprah would probably be a better candidate to face Trump than Cuomo.
