We have the West Region now called Fremont.

We have the North Region now called Lincoln.

Is the South Region considering adopting a new name?

Anyone know?

I recall from the Constitutional Convention the names of Jefferson and Rayburn were put forward.

We've settled on Jefferson in the Constitutional Taskforce, but we haven't done much else on the matter.

Thank you for the update.

Just as an aside, Thomas Jefferson was, of course, a major slave holder.

I spoke on this issue as a delegate to the Constitutional Convention.

That is why I suggested the name of Rayburn, the legendary Speaker of the House from Texas.

But just my view.  It is up to the members of the South what they name the region, not up to me.

Thomas Jefferson was a luminary figure and one of the great minds behind the development of our republic, whatever his flaws may have been. That's why I was in favor of choosing him to name our region after.

"Imperial Dominion of the South" is perhaps the least Jeffersonian name I can think of, except perhaps "Supreme Monarchy of Mercantilism" or "Land of the Many Banks."

I am glad to see we have finally convinced you leaving such powers to the discretion of the region.

I do not believe that the regions should be allowed to name their own region.

Nor do I believe that the regions should have any authority to change the name of their region.

The Atlasian constitution should set the boundaries of the regions and the names of the regions, so they are set, and cannot be changed.

Otherwise we end up with ridiculous names like the Imperial Dominion of the South, the Dirty South, the Althing, etc, etc, etc, or whatever.

As well, the Atlasian constitution should lay out the names of the officers of the regions.  All regions should have a Governor, Lieutenant Governor, an Assembly, members of the Assemblies shall all be known as Representatives.

That way we avoid ridiculous titles such as Emperor or Grand Vizier, King in the North, or whatever.

We have to set standards and make them permanent.

Which would have made the new Fremont Constitution impossible as well.

Says one of the few remaining Populares from days of yore. Tongue The irony is I wonder how many gazed at those membership rolls and pondered whether this not very active populares named Republitarian, was yet another Hamilton sock.

I think that is what Antonio and RowanBrandon did before going to bed each night.

So dfw is advocating a return to the days when Atlasia was literally falling apart.

Atlasia experienced many ups and downs during the period from August 2010 until February 2015 when the IDS was the name of the South. It has literally nothing to do with the condition of the game.

There were various points when the IDS was super active in 2010, parts of 2011, late 2012- 2013 (Cottonfield) and it wasn't too bad the first half of 2014 either under Emperor Scott.
