If Sessions didn’t do anything, he’s sure trying awfully hard to make it look like he did.

-Again, creating ISIS (something Obama actually did) is treasonous. Failing to take a Hitleresque stance on Russia isn't. This ain't complicated.

I know you're not a Putinbot, but I'm legitimately curious how you go from an Obama supporter to being this willfully obtuse about Team Teump's RUS connections and borderline apologia for Putin

lmfao this literally means nothing and is blatantly false considering they want to wreck Mexico's economy by putting up big league trade barriers

Sadly nothing will come of this. This time next year he'll still be AG and most will have forgotten.

Sadly I agree...this has more the makings of Iran-Contra than Watergate

Trump and KKK Sessions is going to get away with everything

The drip-drip drip may not really affect 2018 in terms of getting the Dems the House (I don't think they will win the House) but I certainly believe the drip drip will lead to Trump's downfall.

There's definitely smoke and likely something very substantially real about Trump's campaign's relationship with Russia. I definitely believe that between the tax returns and the campaign connections, there's a lot of stuff about Russia buried in the details.

Trump's base will get defensive. I tend to believe however that the long run, information like this adds up to Watergate instead of Iran-Contra.

Not necessarily -this could spur Republicans to appoint a special prosecutor to look into the matter in a way previous findings hadn't.

McCain and Graham do not speak for your average "Republicans".

-Call me a Romney opponent, really. I always liked Putin; my opinion of him hasn't changed in years. I wanted Obama to fail in implementing his economic policies, and that appeared to be happening as of 2012. I do not want rule by the elites. If it was successful here, I'd give it some credit (and it clearly deserves some in RU; that country's Very Unserious People are very unserious). But it deserves none. Thus I opposed Romney from the day he became the frontrunner. I like how Obama skewered him (rightly) on Russia.

How does any other this information change the following:

1) The fraud that occurred through Clinton Foundation

2) The Democrat leaders/personnel involved in pedophilia

3) The election fraud/unfairness that occurred in the Democrat Party Primaries

4) The supposedly independent relationship between the Hillary Camp/DNC and the Media

5) The spoliation of evidence that occurred in the Clinton investigation

Just to name a few.

In my opinion, this is just a diversion.  The Russians via Wikileaks helped Trump.  Whatever.  I have an issue with the amount of derelict behavior that occurred within the Democrat Party within the last 2 years, which has yet to be addressed.

Very true. They appear to have at least small bits of brain matter that haven't been replaced by bad steak covered in cheap gold paint.

-That is a lie, Beet. You should apologize to the people for this pollution of discourse. Failing to adopt a Hitlerish posture towards Russia has never been treason, and Sessions told the truth -no contact with the Russian govt in his role as Trump campaign surrogate.

I haven't been online for about nine hours, so I've missed how this story developed. But, I think one important effect of this, regardless of how it plays out at home, is that Putin's dream of a US administration with the ability to do things like recognize Crimea and dismantle sanctions is now completely in tatters. Trump can mess with immigration policy and trade, but he is on such a tight leash when it comes to dealing with Russia that the most Putin can hope for is slightly less hostile press releases from the White House when he does something stupid.

He will not resign. That's like trying to pull a steak out of a dog's mouth.

Which is really worse, because unless this goes away quickly, the only alternative should be a special prosecutor. Not that I really expect the GOP to have decency or honesty to appoint one, but if they want to spend the next four or eight years with that rotting albatross around their necks, well I suppose we can work with that too.

But any Democratic Congressperson who isn't calling for resignation or special prosecutor needs to be primaried.

Putin is a paternal autocrat who's used his position to enrich himself and his friends at the expense of democracy and the Russian people. Eisenhower was a decorated General who won WWII and never had massive wealth. Nor did he create an oligarchy.

Come on, man, please just look at what he's doing.

-Horrible if true. Trump should ignore the Russophobic, anti-Americn neocon Nazis in the press and go full Bannon.

Did Sessions say something false in his testimony? Yes. Was he intentionally lying? Almost definitely. Can that be proven? Very unlikely.
