Believe it or not, apparently Kim Jong-un wants to set up a campaign to improve the country's tourism industry, and promote ski resorts. And google "Pyongyang hotels", this is actually a thing.

But no. Aside from being too creepy, one reason being is that if I ever go on vacation somewhere, it better be somewhere where I can play Ingress.

And then of course consider cases like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merrill_Newman

Never in a million years, not even if all expenses were paid.

I've seriously thought about it numerous times, but the idea of funding such a wicked regime has stopped me from doing so. I don't have that much interest anymore.

It would be incredibly fascinating, but I can't say that I would ever do it.

It wouldn't be high on my list, but potentially to see a completely totalitarian state (even through the strictly controlled and whitewashed version of the state handlers). I would have to weigh whether the nominal finnancial support to such a regime would be outweighed by the similarly nominal impact my reporting to friends/family/church/community on the event might have.

Yes, I'm trying to hit all of the remaining communist (or maybe CINO is more appropriate) countries remaining before they become a thing of the past. I've been to Vietnam and Cuba, which leaves only Laos, China, and North Korea left to go.

I'd rather not risk being randomly accused of being a spy and leveraged by the regime in some stupid international dispute, so no.

As far as I know North Korea had been quite delicate with foreign tours.

This, you have to be very stupid or trollish to get into any trouble in a state-sanctioned trip

Not really.  It's interesting that such a place exists in the world, but I don't have much of a desire to go there, and I certainly don't want to support their government.

I really want to go to Cuba, but I wouldn't go to North Korea even if my life depended on it.

And this happens to 90% of Americans who go to North Korea. Some BS about leaving a bible in a hotel room and then you wind up in a Gulag for 3 years before you're paroled.
