Lets say by Iowa it became a one on one race betwen Rubio and Trump , what do you think the primary map would be then.

This is what I think:

Assuming that Trump is red, what makes you think that Rubio would do so well? Surely not all Cruz supporters would have gone to him. I think that Trump would do a lot better in the Rust Belt.

Cruz likely would have endorsed him

LOL at computer's map. Donald Trump would've obviously won. Most Cruz supporters would've obviously backed Trump, regardless of whoever Cruz endorsed.

I highly doubt Rubio would have won Florida. Trump was already at 46% in a 4-person race.

Rubio was crushed by Christie and then by failures on Super Tuesday

Cruz supporters would have backed the conservative Rubio not populist Trump and Trump would have far less gains  than Rubio and it would be very close. He did Farr worse in one to one  polling than a wide field.

Little Marco was the candidate of FOX talking heads, GOP Establishment Types who wanted a fallback plan if (and when) Jeb! became too much of an albatross, and those GOP primary voters who would vote strategically for "the most electable candidate".  Outside of the FL Cuban-American community, he had little grass roots support; he was a guy who the GOP MAY have turned to if their convention was hopelessly deadlocked between Cruz and Trump and neither was budging.

Trump dominated Florida polls almost immediately. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/fl/florida_republican_presidential_primary-3555.html

Trump would have beat Rubio in a one on one race in Florida 54-46.

As someone who was a Cruz backer I can inform you most of the people I had contact within the campaign would have backed Rubio over Trump easily.

Thank you. Rubio and Cruz are pretty similar on the issues(asides from immigration), though Cruz is more aggressive and less appealing, while Trump was seen as a threat to conservatism and the GOP.

Among other things, there's no way on earth Trump would have won the Wisconsin primary. He already got drilled by Ted Cruz (who people mainly voted for simply because he wasn't Trump); it would have only been even more lopsided if Rubio was the other candidate.

The general election result here wasn't because Wisconsin loves Trump so much as that it hates Hillary even more.
