Fremont Activity Report
Office of the Prime Minister
March 2017
Purpose: The
Fremont Activity Report is designed to provide an objective, empirical measure of the activity of members of the regional government of the Commonwealth of Fremont from February 24 to March 27, 2017. It is published by the Office of the Prime Minister to provide for the transparency of, and increase public involvement in, the government of this region.
Methodology: Activity of regional officials is assessed in four categories: Bills Written, Votes Cast, Words of Debate, and Amendments Offered. These categories were chosen for their relevance to all positions within the regional government and their empirical nature. For each category, the report measures both real activity (i.e. the actual quantity of bills, votes, words, and amendments for which the official is responsible) and relative activity (i.e. the percentage of actual activity for which the official is responsible, in relation to the average contribution). Relative activity is calculated according to the following formula:
Relative Activity =
(Real activity) ÷ [(Total activity of all officials) ÷ (Number of officials)]
Accordingly, if a total of ten bills were introduced in the House of Commons during the period of study, an official who introduced two bills would receive a relative activity score of 100% for that category; an official who introduced one bill would receive a relative activity score of 50%; and so on.
