As an American I would feel better visiting SA, but if I had to choose to be a citizen of one of these countries it would definitely be Iran.

you are ofc correct that it is possible to use your power that way, but this is not something a neighbouring country or other powers should or must accept or even respect.

mexico doesn't need to submit to trump's wishes and neither must ukraine or south korea submit to russia's or china's wishes.

while you are totally correct, i may propose that such a thing of mental separation is far easier to do with democratic counctries who change leaders and ideologies every few years.
