Macron. I'm closer ideologically to Hamon, but when the other two people with a realistic chance of getting to the presidency are Fillon And LP Jr., I'll gladly vote for the Lesser evil

Macron to prevent pure evil. Harmon would have been my top choice otherwise.

Macron -unlike the nihilistic Russophiles here, I don't want the European Union to fall apart.  In its earlier incarnations, it has maintained peace and stability within its member states for decades, and I don't want to imperil that by having it break up.  We can afford having Britain leave, but France seceding would destroy it.

Macron- partly to prevent a Fillon or Le Pen presidency, partly because I like his nonpartisan approach to politics, which is something that I think is sorely lacking in the global political climate of today.

Hamon in the first round. I'm perfectly willing to vote for Standard left neoliberalism (Macron) over far right Trumpism (Le Pen) in round two, but when I have a candidate or two I'd actually like to vote for in the first round, I'm not missing that opportunity, especially considering Macron looks to be a shoe-in for round two.

Well, if the current results of this poll were actual opinion polling numbers from France I'd vote Hamon.

But in reality, I'd vote Macron.

[1] Macron

[5] Melenchon

This looks about right. Fillon might be better on some issues than Macron, but Macron is a better candidate, and it's nice to see an independent break through the system. It's too bad France never seems to have a viable classical liberal option.
