1) My U.K. relatives negative opinion on that country's public option, particularly concerning its long wait times for surgeries.

A) your relatives are a very small minority if they want to abolish the NHS, so it's more likely they are doing the common British hobby of moaning.

B) the public option isn't the NHS or anything close to it.
