My dad bought my car for me off of craigslist and I have had it since I was 17.

Yes:

I also sold a stick-shifter that way when I was forced out of Virginia.

I bought my current car that way, but that guy turned out to be a shyster...but since I just got past an accident and needed something reliable ASAP...I went for it anyway.

And I reckon I'll be sellin' again soon since my neighbors gave me a much much better car than what I have now.

The last car I sold (Mazda 3 w/ blown engine) and the last car I bought (the Beast) were both done through Craig's List.  I've bought and sold a bunch of other sh**t too.  I have an ad up right now Smiley

If you like cheap sh**t and ain't a dumb or a pussy it's a good place to get a deal.

My current project car, my current daily, my first car and all the cars I've flipped over the years have been from Craigslist. I'm only now considering buying used from a dealer for my next daily.

Interesting how this seems to be a normal thing to do in the U.S. I would never buy a car off the internet, and neither would most Dutch, probably.

is "second hand" a thing?  Do you have pawn stores, used CD/books/other media stores?  Do people have yard sales?
