Both very hot and very cold weather bother. In very hot weather, we need air conditioning, we are always sweating. In very cold weather, we need heating system, we can't stay many hours outdoor, even if we have warm clothes.
Which one is worst?

I think very hot weather is worse.  In very cold weather, it's easy to get warm with shelter and enough clothes.  It's not as easy to get cool in very hot weather, even if you have air conditioning.

I go to Calgary every winter. It's not bad at all.

Miami in the summer is unbearable.

In the cold, you can always put on another layer, but there are only so many you can take off in the heat.

They're both awful. Where's the option for a nice regular dry heat?

I live in a Miami summer.

So it would have to be a Calgary winter.

You get more illnesses in winter.

We're expecting a winter storm tomorrow and it's freezing up here in New England so I'll say Calgary in the wintertime.  I'm just done with the cold and the snow and the heavy wind.

But if you ask me this same question in the middle of August when its 90 degrees in Boston, I'll say Miami.

I hate extremes - weather-wise, political-wise, any-wise.  Balance is always best.

That's definitely not my experience. I've been freezing inside buildings (and even f**king buses) even when it was over 90F outside.

I find that most building are far too cold when it's hot outside. It's like someone decided that indoor areas need to be at 60F at all times, regardless whether it's 100F outside or 20F outside.

I like the building cool (55-60 degrees) when it is hot outside (to instantly stop sweating if I am) and nice and toasty (70 degrees?) if it is cold outside.  I guess that's an expensive taste.  But, constant cold is simply depressing, and heat is not.  This week is going to have three straight days in the 40s here, the coldest stretch in a long time.  It looks like the 70s should at least return by Sunday.

I live in Illinois and have dealt with both extremes - I've seen -20 and 110. Extreme heat, to me, is much more bearable than extreme cold.

See, I'm actually kind of the opposite. I find drastic differences in outdoor and indoor temperatures to be annoying, especially when it's warn enough that I'm doing a lot of walking around outside. I'm outside, it's warm enough for me to sweat, I walk into a building with AC that would be a bit too cool for my tastes anyway, and then I get really cold becasue I'm also kind of wet from the sweat.

I've never been to either place, but I'm more of a summer person than winter person (though I hate both seasons for their extremes), so I picked Calgary.

I like Miami in the summer.  We spent a week in South Beach in July.  Have also stayed in Tampa, Key Largo, Key West, Panama City, Destin, Clearwater, and Fort Walton Beach in July.  What's not to like?

Never been to Calgary but I have been to other spots in Canada in the Winter.  Not very pleasant.  Voted for Calgary.

The cold can be brutal but the mid 90s+ with the humidity is far worse. You can always put more stuff on, you can't take more off.

^ This, an Australian city should have been out there, not that I would choose it, as I hate warm weather in general, but it would give people who did prefer it an option.
